A couple of images from Russell Falls

Here are a couple of images from Russell Falls in Tasmania. It is a particularly beautiful place and the greens are outstanding.

These Tasmanian Pademelon’s are everywhere around the area.

Thanks to Dave Betini for the heads up on this little critter. He informs me that they are now only found in Tasmania and are extinct in Victoria where they used to also domicile!

  1. Are you sure it’s a wombat Mark? Looks more like a pademellon or wallaby to me! Nice waterfall.

    • Doh Dave…you are of course right it is a Wallaby and I had that in mind but wrote Wombat!!

Will fix..thanks for the heads up!

  2. Did a bit of research mate and I reckon it’s a Tasmanian Pademelon. Apparently it is quite common in Tassy but now extinct on the mainland (ie Victoria).
    Cheers

    • Cool mate..I’ll amend the post accordingly and look like a legend!!!…ta!

  3. Nice images Mark, that is one well fed pademelon as well! Great little critters and there are pademelons still on the mainland.
