The Basin Colours, Rottnest Island

This is the little bay between Longreach and the Basin at Rottnest Island. The shot was taken at midday when the colours were shown off at their best with the midday sun.

Shot with my trusty 17mm tilt shift and using the shift function to execute the perfect stitch.

  1. Liking that 17mm Mark … I like how you have put the horizon higher in the POV to frame this shot … sweet

    • Thanks Neal..I like the strong diagonals..that is what attracted me to the shot in the first place.

  2. Awesome colours mate. Looks really good!

  3. Great shot once again Mark.

I love that little bay I’ve been there before.

Can’t wait to get over to Rotto again and shoot while the weather is still hot.

  4. Yeh, it’s usually pretty good even up til may these days, just got to work out when I can go.
Too much to do and not enough time to do it all.

  5. Perfect pano, look at those nice leading lines from all corners. You should do more panos using the shift, they just look so cool as they have a perfect ‘unstitched’ look as if you had a panoramic 17mm lens. Winner! Straight to the website 🙂

    • Sweet mate!

The South Perth ss and the Lake Ballard Moonset are 2 others I dud that way!

      Cheers,

      Mark
