Rabaul Altered Landscape
Altered landscape is somewhat of an understatement for this scene stitched around the corner from my previous stitch.
How are the lava and ash lines leading into the bay and into the hot springs on the right hand foreground!
I felt like I had definitely left planet earth through a time warp and landed on another moon somewhere for sure. There was a new shot arpund every corner….hope you like it!
Hey Mark
Happy New Year!!!
Great shot if you ask me, I personally would like to see a tad more sky but either way I’m liking this shot nice composition.
Cheers
Darren
Thanks Darren Happy New year to you 2 mare!
In actual fact this shot is really all about the lava lines and when zoomed in they are awesome!
At 1200 pixels the lines are not prominent enough.
Cheers,
Mark
Some shots are like that hey, need to be viewed big to be truly appreciated. Either way I’m giving this one a tick…
Thanks Darren.,.the tick is very much appreciated!

Like it Mark! If you imagine this place pre-blast, it is even more powerful!
Love this shot Mark. Amazing contrast to the clear blue water and the devastatingly dramatic landscape. A favourite of mine too!

I have had this one sitting in my desktop for a month or so now….looks like it was worth persevering with eh!
Winner. The best pano from our VVAP volcano expedition for sure! Like I said, really good balanced composition in this one and great lines. Print this one big and give it to Christian, he can shed a tear or two over not going π
He he…good idea Flembot!
