Call to arms to assist a fellow blogger and photographer

I am sure that the name Tony Middelton (Tone) is very familiar to you all and I have learned today via Andrew Brown’s blog that Tony had all of his gear stolen yesterday along with all of his back up drives and 10 years worth of images!

To say that he is gutted is an understatement!

I would like to do something to assist Tony to get back out there doing what he does best and Ben from Team Digital has agreed to offer a good price on the gear he has lost.

So I am asking everyone out there in blog land to put a donation to this account which I have set up purely for this appeal. Any and every donation will be much appreciated by Tony and I hope we can go someway towards replacing his kit.

Of course we can never replace the 10 years worth of kick butt images, but at least we might be able to get him up and running again and ease the pain a bit!

Andrew Brown from Abscenes has a post up listing all the gear that has been stolen from Tony. Please keep an eye out and let myself or Tony Middelton know if you come across it on Ebay etc.

I have started an account where the donations can be put into, so if you are keen to support Tony, please email me at mark@northstarcruises.com.au and I will send you the account details.

  1. Absolutely shocking news. I feel sick just thinking about it. Don’t know Tony but always happy to support a fellow photographer and Victorian. Sent you an email.

Been busy here with a new addition to the family. Really enjoying your PNG images. You are making very good use of your new 17mm tilt shift.

    • Great to hear from you Peter…my favorite foot doctor! 🙂

I have sent you an email with the account details…thanks heaps mate!

  2. I am more than happy to help out. Gut wrenching.

I’m not suggesting that there is a connection, however, I did notice that Tone posted on facebook that he was off to QLD last week. So just a suggestion for everyone, don’t post on facebook that you’re heading away on holidays, or away for the weekend.

    Read this.

  8. Top work Mark. This is the best of the Aussie spirit to smash the worst. I’ll shoot you a separate mail in the next day or so with my contribution, just got to get it past the man himself first…

    • Happy to help poor old Tone man!

He is a great guy and doesn’t deserve this so it is the least I can do.

Thanks for the heads up this morning.

  12. Hi everyone 🙂
FIrstly I would like to thank Mark, Christian and Ben from TD – unbelievable , unasked and overwhelming ! To all of you wonderful photographers and more importantly people – your thoughts and support is incredible !
In regards to the robbery, I had got home from an awesome wk on qld with my good friend Ben Messina the Sunday night and gone to work early the next morning only to find on my return that every camera, lens, hard drive, computer, unpacked bags, money, tools of my trade, dive gear etc the list goes on – gone ! All these contents temporarily uninsured whilst waiting for payments to go through. A tiny risk window that may not have covered me regardless.

    • No wukkers Tone!

Everyone has been fantastic as you say, but I guess the support is to be expected….seeing as we are a cool bunch of crew eh!:)

Glad to be of assistance mate!

      Cheers

      Mark
